Some cities have started sending some materials directly to the landfill, others are having to charge more money to customters to get rid of recycling materials, and yet other cities have quit picking up some common recycling materials telling customers to toss it in the trash bins.
Big problem regardless.
If we want it recycled in Mecklenburg County it is going to cost us all a little more money.
I did see where City of Charlotte is going to open a warehouse and put a couple of million dollars into it to allow people to try and come up with new ideas for use of recyclable materials. The City of Charlotte and Meck towns basically do the pick up while Mecklenburg County Solid Waste part of Luesa is in charge of disposal and the MRF aka Material Recovery Facility.
