America’s night out against crime, is Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. This annual community-building campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. The City of Charlotte has supported National Night Out (NNO) for over 25 years. This year there are more than 70 events happening throughout Charlotte-Mecklenburg. During that time, neighborhoods have organized activities such as block parties, cookouts, porch sit-ins and ice cream socials to demonstrate their support of “no tolerance” for crime. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) is committed to having a presence at each NNO event registered with the City. The City will also be celebrating its' 250th Anniversary! In many neighborhoods, CMPD will be joined by City staff from various departments in a coordinated effort to:
