Community Engagement Meetings

We Want Your Feedback!
As we continue to build a diverse and inclusive community and address the need for an adequate supply of affordable housing, Charlotte City Council’s Housing & Neighborhood Development Committee invites you to provide input on a revised Housing Locational Policy.

The policy serves as a guide for the location of new affordable multi-family housing developments throughout our community. The goal of the revised policy is to reflect Charlotte’s current housing landscape, needs, and priorities better, so that policy waivers are unnecessary.

The revisions will help the policy be a more viable tool in guiding the location of newly affordable multi-family developments in areas of high opportunity. It includes a new scorecard and scoring matrix to help determine priority locations based on criteria such as:
•  Income levels
•  Proximity to transit and job centers
•  Ability to address gentrification
