Preparation for Hurricane Florence
I wanted to make you aware of the steps we are taking in preparation for Hurricane Florence.
Earlier today, the County Manager’s Office, along with several County departments, began discussions with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management and other community partners to ensure sheltering operations are in place if and when they are needed.
In addition, our Public Information Department is working with the City of Charlotte to provide coordinated messaging to the public.
We will use all of channels (mecknc.gov, Meckweb, social media and the Employee Information hotline: 980-314-4444) to distribute updates as they become available.
