BREATHE FREE CLT TREESTORE
Saturday, Oct. 6, 10:30 a.m. - noon
Camp North End, 1824 Statesville Avenue
Charlotte, NC 28206 (map)
TreesCharlotte begins its 7th planting season on Saturday with two plantings and a TreeStore that will get nearly 700 trees in the ground. What a great start toward our goal of 5,000 trees between now and the end of March! Help build our urban tree canopy by attending the Breathe Free CLT TreeStore, sponsored by Novant Health.
Each Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees. Proof of Charlotte residency (driver's license, utility bill, etc.) as well as a valid email address are required in order to participate.
At the TreeStore, you'll be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s). Tree training in mandatory. You will then be asked to complete and sign a stewardship pledge form with your home and email addresses and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.
PLEASE NOTE: This TreeStore will feature trees that are 6 to 10 feet tall. Trees cannot be reserved or delivered, and we cannot guarantee species types or quantities. This is a first-come, first-served event, so get there early for the best selection. The TreeStore is limited to Charlotte residents only.
ARRIVE EARLY BECAUSE QUANTITIES ARE LIMITED!
KIWANIS UNDER THE CANOPY CHILI COOKOFF
While you're at the TreeStore, grab lunch at the Kiwanis' Under the Canopy Chili Cookoff at 11 a.m. in the Boileryard at Camp North End. A $5 donation gets you in to each chili prepared by teams throughout the city competing to be the chili champion. A portion of the proceeds benefit TreesCharlotte's educational programming in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Purchase Chili Cookoff tickets here.
