Madison Park

Douglas Welton HOA President for Madison Park said our HOA did not request the traffic counts.     If Montclaire wants them on their end fine, but keep them on your end.   I don't want them on this end.  Fire department will not want them.   The manhole covers make enough noise without having to hear cars bouncing over humps 24/7.    I t would help if CMPD would enforce the stop signs.  Maybe they can get the useless Sherriff to come do it since he doens't want to do his job.   He should of kept his job with the ID network and his I am Homocide Show from when he worked for CMPD.  

I did have one neighbor on my block tell me they would like humps because their auto was hit while parked on the street.  I would guess it was more likely the result of an impaired driver than a speeder.   I only know of one other auto ever hit on my block in 25 years and that was by an impaired driver more than a decade ago.

CDOT always said parking on the street was a form of Traffic Calming.  

I know years ago to have both All Stops and humps you had to have more than 2500 traffic count in a 24 hour period.  We do get a lot of cut through traffic, but I doubt we get that much as many turn on Chedworth and cut over to the traffic light at Wedgewood Drive.   

I certainly would not want our All Stops to be removed in order to have humps. I personally just hate humps.  They tear up your autos, impair Fire Trucks, and make racket when they are hit to fast by drivers.    

Anyway will have to see how this one plays out.  

CMPD just enforce the all stops on random occasions and that will get people to start stopping.  Knowing there is never anyone watching is the reason people roll through them in the first place.     This city rarely enforces traffic laws and certainly NEVER speeding.  I really don't know what the sheriff department does ..we know they don't want to do anything to help ICE in Mecklenburg County. It really would not hurt for them to help partrol some all stops.
