Dear Adopt a City Street Member,

We hope you’re staying safe in this unique and challenging time. We treasure the effort you’ve put into keeping Charlotte beautiful, and the health and safety of our volunteers and staff is our utmost priority.  In this interest, we are temporarily halting all litter cleanup supply distributions at our four offices through at least April 1stWe will notify you of any updates as available.

In the meantime please consider the following:

  • Help us Spread Positivity- Send/share photos of your group, unique finds, fond memories of past cleanup events to kcb@charlottenc.gov, or tag KCB to keep our feed and yours filled with upbeat vibes. You can find us at @KeepCharlotteBeautiful on Facebook, @KCB_Charlotte on twitter, and @kcb_nc on Instagram
  • Report Problems- See a good spot for a future cleanup? Report problem areas to 311 and extend patience as staff are also experiencing impacts.  Your calls help staff and volunteers to prioritize areas to be cleaned
  • Get Supplied - Charlotte Community Toolbank is offering tables, chairs, tents, and other equipment free of charge to organizations supporting COVID-19 responses, including those providing free lunches, sorting food for families practicing self-isolation, staging pop-up testing site and more.  To request equipment call 704.469.5800
  • Promote Adopt a City Street- Share the AACS application with friends, encourage them to adopt, and be ready to host future cleanup events!
  • SMALL clean-ups - If you do decide to conduct a cleanup or go plogging during the next two weeks, here are some additional things to keep in mind:
    • Limit the size of your volunteer group to 5 or less
    • Maintain at least 6 feet in between each volunteer along the roadside
    • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after the cleanup
    • Consider placing your collected bags in your personal bin or the bin of your business (as opposed to calling 311)
    • Submit a cleanup report, as always, so we know what great work you’re doing!

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and we wish you the best of healthtoday and always.

Kind Regards,

Jonathan Hill
