Conflict Management Workshop Series
Conflict is all around us -- in our relationships, on the job, at school, and in our neighborhoods. How we choose to deal with conflict often reflects our life experiences. Effective conflict management is an essential skill needed to navigate challenging conversations and situations. In this workshop series, you'll learn personal, professional, and intercultural conflict management strategies.
Building your Conflict Resolution Toolbox (June 3) – During this training, a compilation of tools, techniques, best practice and professional knowledge will be presented. You’ll learn how to use these tools to diffuse difficult situations and have effective conversations so all individuals involved can be heard and understood.
A High-level Introduction to Mediation (June 10) – Mediation is a process where participants communicate and discuss possible resolutions to resolve a conflict that may be causing elevated tension or miscommunication. Participants will be using their conflict resolution toolbox in combination with mediation skills to find a win-win solution. NOTE: This training is not the full certified training module to become a CRC Volunteer mediator.
Do you know your neighbor? (June 17) – Charlotte has rich culture and diversity in its community. Participants will learn how to embrace this diversity and develop partnership relationships with fellow community members.
