Remember Over sized cardboard filled with packing materials is not recyclable!

If you want it picked up remove the packing materials!    Cut the cardboard up and place it in the green can!

Drivers of both recycling and trash DO NOT get out of their truck to handle those items if you place it on the ground next to the can!

Several people had cardboard on the ground this week and it was of course not removed!

You also have the option of trashing the packing contents and taking the cardboard over to Park Road Park to the self service recycling center!  (NOTE! This is no longer self service as the county Solid Waste has had to hire workers to babysit the folks bringing materials over to the recycling center)!  That means about 1/2 million a year more in cost to our taxes in Meck County because people can't follow the rules!   This change is being made at several self service locations!  Workers are not allowed to work by themselves, so that means not one but two folks on site to monitor and correct folks bringing in wrong items.

The self recycling centers had become illegal dumps!

So if you bring it to those park sites it must be the same items that could technically go in your green cart.   Plastics with necks, cardboard flattened, glass, cans!

There are a few options for other items to be taken to a full service recycling center!

Remember NEVER BAG anything in your green cart!   If you do it becomes trash and it cost around 2 million a year extra to haul it from the recycling center to the Speedway landfill!   Yes we all pay for it in fee increases on our tax bills each year.

I don't know about you, but I don't like Paying because people are too lazy or can't follow the rules.   There has always been signs in the Parks telling you what items to bring and what to not leave!
