I noticed yesterday that the Madison Park Free Standing sign that was between Marion Diehl Senior Entrance and the New Day Care (Old Wedgewood Church) was missing!    There was some grading taking place behind the sidewalk.  I did not see it in the area anywhere and looked twice as I was driving by the area.

I checked with Tom Im the current neighborhood president and he did not know it was down or possibly missing!

If anyone saw it being taken down or know the whereabouts let Tom know at

We had another sign damaged on corner of Fairbanks Road and Wedgewood last year by a tree and tree removal crew.   I understand both the property owner and the tree crew have refused to take responsibility for it allegedly.   That is why there  has been a pole with nothing attached for months.   It looks bad and needs to be repaired sooner than later.

These were all purchased with neighborhood funds back in 2010 and a City of Charlotte matching grant.

Those signs were all put up with permission of CDOT and homeowners at the time of install.  They were all installed in public right of ways!    I know because I was the president of Madison Park HOA at the time and I was the one working on it.  The property with the damage sign at 4619 Wedgewood Drive was owned by Realtor Lars Hedenborg at the time of install and he granted permission for the sign to be installed on that lot.

Those signs at the time were over $500 each and I am sure at today's price it is much higher.   (If anyone wishes to contribute to replacing let Tom know at above email).

It will probably cost a few hundred dollars to repair the damaged pole/sign.

Hopefully someone has safely stored the sign missing on Tyvola.   There was 9 of these free standing signs put up at the time of the installs in 2010.
