I Located Our Missing Neighborhood Sign Today

Posted in: Madison Park

I had noticed this am the area the sign previously was installed in is the area that Sharon Academy at Wedgewood started their new meandering sidewalk with a planting strip.  That looks so much better than that old narrow walk way back of curb.

Tom In the current neighborhood president had told me last week he had not located the sign.  I had alerted him it was missing a couple of weeks ago.

I walked around the construction quickly and didn't see it at the property.

I reached out to Sharon Academy and Wedgewood myself.

Wedgewood gave me a lead at Sharon Academy.

Brian Crutchfield just contacted me and said they had carefully removed the sign and plan to re install in the near future once construction ends on the replacement sidewalk.

He said they had reached out to city, but city did not have contacts for the the prior install.   Pretty sad as much work that we have done with the city and they could not come up with a contact for the project!

We still have that damaged sign at Wedgewood / Fairbanks Road.

The property owners and their tree contractors alledgelly have refused to pay for the damage caused removing tree damage on that corner several months ago.

Neighborhood does not have funds at the time to pay for the repair.

If anyone wants to contribute toward the repair you  can let the Neighborhood President know at president@madisonParkCharlotte.org

All that remains is the decorative pole at 4619 Wedgewood Drive.   Any amount you can give for the repair I am sure it would be appreciated by the Neighborhood Association previously the Madison Park HOA.

All these signs and toppers were installed through neighborhood individual residents donations, and and City of Charlotte Neighborhood Matching Grant in 2010.

Normally when signs are damaged if a car wreck the individual is held responsible or their insurance company pays.    This was the first time a free standing sign was damaged and the person damaging the sign should of been held responsible.
