Queens Soccer Team Cleaning Fairview & Tyvola Thursday 8:30 am

Posted in: Madison Park

The soccer team adopted Fairview from Park Road to Barclay Drive for their adopt a street. They are planning a cleanup in the morning of their new stretch at 8:30 am.   They are also going to clean our section from Park Road to Wedgewood Drive of Tyvola.   Madison Park has all of Tyvola from Old Pineville Road to Park Road.  We also have Seneca Place from Park to South Blvd.  These have been our Adopt A Streets for many years going back to like 2005 for Tyvola and 2006 for Seneca Place.

If anyone would like to help please show up.    They plan on having like 22 people cleaning.

I just drove that stretch of Tyvola and the trash is pretty bad even though Joseph Delorm of Madison Park works with me to try and keep it clean down to the creek and back up to South Blvd.

If you can't help anytime you are out for a walk and can grab a trash bag and pick up some litter on our Adopt A Street or really any of our neighborhood streets it would be great.   If you go to Charlottte.gov and put in Adopt A Street in search there is a cleanup report.  You can submit online.   Just put what you picked up.

If you clean any of Seneca Place or any of Tyvola you can do a report.   The community clean up reports are tracked by Keep Charlotte Beautiful.   A couple of years ago we had the highest number of clean up reports on Tyvola.  I had submitted nearly 200 for a year.

As part of the cleanup removing illegal signs on utility poles or within 11 feet of curb is an optional task during clean ups.    The report is self explanatory you will see where you can check for sign removals.

You can all Help Keep Charlotte Beautiful and especially our neighborhoods.

If you like you can go on the available Adopt A Street maps and pick out a street to Adopt.   If you clean a mile stretch you get two signs of your name or group one on both end.    I am sure we have some streets in Madison Park and Montclaire that could be adopted.

Meet in the Queens Sports Complex if you want to help!

It is their field hockey team doing the cleaning!
