Brakes on Booster Shot Plan

Posted in: Madison Park

Health officials have advised the White House that regulators need more time to review necessary data before approving a COVID-19 booster shot plan.

The guidance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is that both agencies have so far only accumulated enough data to suggest that some individuals who received the Pfizer vaccine should get a booster shot.

I have been in the Atrium Health Covid 19 Study for the CDC, & Dept. of U.S. Health and Human Service since May 2020.

They told us last night during a webinar for participants that when the booster is available we can do both the booster for Covid and the Flu Shot at the same visit.

Said it was at first thought not a good idea, but now it was ok.    Apparently it has already happened for several in the first group for boosters with no issues.
