Bags in Recycling Carts / Never BAG

Posted in: Madison Park

Remember Never Bag Anything in your recycling green cart.  Just walking my dogs this morning I could not help but see several cans clearly with wrong items or bagged items sticking out of the carts.

Why should we care?  Because this is part of the 2 million extra we pay in fees for the recycling center having to pull this garbage out of the recycling stream.

Even worse if they miss items it can cause damage to the equipment or injure workers in the Mecklenburg Material Recovery Center.

IF YOU BAG ANYTHING IN THAT GREEN CART IT IS NOT OPENED.  IT IS PUT IN THE TRASH PILE.   Having to haul that trash to the Speedway Landfill is what adds the nearly 2 million dollars to the cost of operations every single year.   That is a lot of money we are throwing away.    Put only acceptable items in the carts and toss it in clean and bag free.

You bag your trash in the trash cart.  You never bag anything in the Green Recycling Carts in Charlotte, NC

If you recycle because you wish to protect the environment then do it right.   If you are not going to do it right toss it all in the trash can and forget about it.  By not doing it right you contaminate the load and cost millions!
