Apparently porch pirate struck a front porch on Burnley Road. I was out walking my dogs this am and saw a turned over open box at Seacroft and Chedworth. I decided to stop and pick up the trash/box and a lot of paper scatter along the edge of Chedworth @ Seacrofts yard to carry home and dispose of it. As I was picking it all up I found something hard inside some wrapped paper.
Apparently this was a wedding gift. There was a phone number on the shipping box for the recipient. I called and left a voice mail. A person called and said they were the company of the gift recipient that the man worked for, and the man was out of town. They had actually sent the gift.
I offered to hold the item and had already tried calling the company that sent the gift. They were not open. I told the lady calling me I would call the company back at 9 when they opened to let them know at least part of the package was clearly missing. She said please do. I called promptly at 9 and the person said yes we already have received word the package was stolen and you can just keep the item you found, since we are replacing the package.
Two conclusions! Watch out for Porch Pirates and pickup up trash. Sometimes it pays off
