Know Before You Go! (mecknc.gov)

The process is a little different from past elections.

You fill the request form in online and put in any required info such as NC DL# or last 4 digits of your social security.  You sign the request form online and submit it online.

I did one this past Monday evening and my ballot for the primary arrived in the mail today Thursday 4/21/22.

The ballot requires two witnesses 18 or older, or one notary.  Those witness must sign the outside of the envelope with their name address and signature.   They also much be present while you mark your ballot.  Voter must also sign their envelope for it to be counted as valid.

Ballots then must be mailed back with a US Postage stamp.

Hand carried by you or a family member to the BOE.

One other option is to drop the ballot off in person at an early voting site.

You cannot bring the ballot to the precinct voting site on election day!   On Early voting sites can take your completed return.

If you need assistance voting or bringing your ballot to post office there is special rules for that and a signature is also required.  Remember only certain people are able to assist you to vote!

Any voter registered in Mecklenburg County can request an absentee ballot from the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections prior to the last Tuesday before an election.  Their are two options to make the request: option 1 is to visit the portal and request electronically and option two is to complete the Absentee B??‹allot Request Form. Numerous outside organizations have sent forms to targeted individuals. As long as these forms are blank when received by the voter  - they can be completed and returned. The form can be mailed or hand delivered to our office.

If you are Military, immediate family of Active Military, or a US citizen overseas, please visit FVA??‹P.gov to register and request your ballots.

You can no longer verify receipt and processing of your request online. Please email absentee@mecklenburgcountync.gov to confirm processed. If mailed - you must allow 10 days to receive and process. If emailed, you must allow 4 days to receive and process
