Two people suffered shark bites on the same day in Myrtle Beach this week, officials said, and one of them reportedly required hundreds of stiches from the attack.

The incidents, which were the only reported bites of the year within the city, took place Monday about 10 blocks from one another, the Myrtle Beach Sun News reported.

Myrtle Beach Police Master Cpl. Kevin Larke said one of the victims suffered "a glancing bite to the leg," the outlet reported.
