MNA Meeting - February 27 at 6:30pm, St Giles Church
Have you seen the lot on the corner of Burnley and Farmbrook? A single family house was torn down to make way for a subdivided lot with a duplex. A new city ordinance effective June 1, will allow developers to add duplexes and triplexes to neighborhood lots without a permit for permission first. Come hear about the pending change and what Montclaire can do to preserve the charm of our mid-century, single family home neighborhood.

Also, Montclaire's CMPD Community Coordinator Officer Tam Phan will attend to provide an update on safety.  Hear about our most recent social gatherings - book club and ladies night.  Toppers will be providing pizza.

From County Commissioner Laura Meier:

Park Road Park update:

In last year’s budget, the county set aside money to study the blue-green algae in the ponds in the county’s parks. The bad news is that PRP and Freedom Park are the two worst offenders and pose serious public health concerns. The good news is that the almost $5M to fix the problem will be included in the upcoming budget.
I am including the timeline and recommendations—dredging both ponds—in the screenshots below. PRP will be addressed first to coincide with the construction of the new pavilion in 2024. Freedom will start in 2025 during Discover Nature construction. Hopefully pairing with already-planned construction will help eliminate the need to close the parks (or parts of the parks) twice.
In the meantime, the county will add a Phoslock treatment to keep the algae at lower levels (a short-term fix).

Marion Diehl Pool:

Work has progressed well over the last few weeks. The new plaster for the pool remains in the curing phase.  The pool deck surfacing has been installed, except for a final seal coat, which will be finished curing by Feb. 21st.   Once the pool deck has completely cured, the General Contractor will request final Code Enforcement inspections, and Park & Rec will coordinate with the Health Department for the pool inspections.  Pending successful inspections, the target date for reopening the pool remains March 20th.
