Two mornings ago I spotted a medium brown dog crossing Londonderry alone from Wensley Drive to even side of Londonderry. I was a block down the road. I turned to avoid taking any chances with the stray dog and my little dogs.
Today I was all the way around to about Camborne Place on Seacroft and looked up to spot the same dog off leash down near Burnley. A neighbor down the road was out in the street in her car and possibly was trying to catch the dog. I know she likes dogs. She came my way and saw I was stopped and turned back around. Another dog walker came down behind me and I pointed the dog out to him. We both watched to see if it would go away. It did not. He decided to keep going with his larger dog. The dog came out into the street, but did not bother him or his dog. I decided to go all the way back around the same way I had just walked from.
Over on Londonderry Road the Vet that owns the Park Road / Montford locations was getting in her car. I told her about the dog thinking she might hear someone looking. She said I saw the dog yesterday while walking and tried to catch it. She said it would not come.
I reluctantly called animal control to see if they can catch the dog and find the owner if there is one.
If this is your dog and you are just letting it roam then SHAME ON YOU! If your dog has gotten out look for him in this area of Seacroft or Londonderry Road. I am afraid someone just dumped him out. I don't feel comfortable walking with a dog running around the area.
