I see locations with yard waste out on curb in plastic bags this week. Yard waste crews are not allowed to remove yard waste in plastic garbage bags. This has been the law of the land in Charlotte since July like 2 or 3 years ago. Nothing has changed in regards to plastic garbage bags. They are not allowed for yard waste.
You can bag them and self haul to a full service Meck county center. However, you will have to unbag them yourself. You can't just toss them out for county staff to unbag.
PAPER ONLY! Personal yard waste bags like totes or hard plastic containers also acceptable for yard waste!
Also don't place boxes or trash outside your trash cart or recycling cart. If you have not noticed it is NEVER picked up. Drivers don't get out of the trucks to handle such waste.
The only exception is bulk pickup and you must scheduled that in advance and place it curbside no sooner than the day prior to scheduded pickup date. Those dates sometimes are a couple of weeks out from the date you called so pay attention.
Also handles face toward your house on your roll cans. Not toward the street.
