In other amimal predicting weather:
Phil is not the only burrow-dwelling animal in the U.S. who likes to take a stab at predicting when the seasons will change.
From his mansion in Jackson, Georgia, groundhog General Beauregard Lee did not see his shadow Friday, predicting an early spring for the Peach State. Likewise, Chuck, the groundhog from Staten Island, New York, was met with overcast skies and claims he did not see his shadow.
In Connecticut, groundhog Chuckles called for spring to come early, as well.
Making it unanimous among weather-predicting animals, Long Island, New York’s, Malverne Mel and Holtsville Hal predicted spring would be here soon.
