Yard Waste Collection Experiencing Weather-Induced DelaysPublished on May 14, 2024 CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 14, 2024) – City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services is experiencing ongoing delays in yard waste collection due to the significant amount of debris left from last week’s storm which has been exacerbated by current weather conditions. Residents will experience collection delays in yard waste service as a result. Despite the challenges, Solid Waste Services is committed to restoring regular service as swiftly as possible. Residents are requested to prepare their yard waste according to the Solid Waste Services collection guidelines, place their properly prepared yard waste curbside on their scheduled day, and leave it at the curb until collected. Collection may not occur on their scheduled collection day, but yard waste will be collected as quickly as possible. Details on how to properly prepare yard waste and other materials for collection can be found online on the Solid Waste Services website. Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses. Solid Waste Services offers collection updates via text. Residents who wish to receive updates regarding impacts to service can text their collection day to 73224. For example, if their collection day is Thursday, they would text “Thursday” to 73224. For more information, visit curbit.charlottenc.gov. |
