CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Tropical storm warnings were issued as far east as Mecklenburg County ahead of Hurricane Helene’s expected impact in the Carolinas this week.
The National Weather Service issued tropical storm warnings on Wednesday, Sept. 25 for multiple counties in western North Carolina and western South Carolina. The warnings were issued because “tropical storm-force winds” were expected in those areas “within the next 26 hours,” the NWS said.
Mecklenburg County and Gaston County are under a Tornado Warning at 10:05 AM 9/26/24. Weatherman says to expect more of the same as Hurricane Helene moves toward the gulf today.
