Beyond the Façade

One of the organizations to be honored at the MIG?’s January 21 awards luncheon (noon at 800 W. Pacific Coast Highway) will be Goodwill Industries. MIG Boardmember Janet McCarthy, Executive Director of Goodwill Industries, told MIG members at their December meeting that the fa?§ade improvements on the building on 800 W. Pacific Coast Highway would include a mural. The artist selected to do the mural painting is Greg Pickens, a local artist known for his community involvement. Pickens will enlist the help of 15 high school students to complete the painting.
In addition, Goodwill Industries was the spotlight sponsor for Long Beach?’s annual State of the City luncheon on January 13 at the Long Beach Convention Center. Goodwill Industries has been providing assistance, employment and encouragement to the community for 75 years.
