Member dues – which is only $40 per year – goes to, among other things:
• Seasonal landscaping/maintenance at both the Bauer Dr. and Rocking Spring Dr. entrances;
• Maintenance of entry way lighting;
• Insurance costs for Manor Lake entrances and common areas;
• Neighborhood Watch supplies;
• Fire Hydrant reflectors to make them visible during winter snowfall;
• Capital improvements;
• Facility costs for general meetings and social events;
• Social events:
o Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
o National Night Out;
o Neighborhood Yard Sale;
o Periodic Meet ‘n Greet for residents with County Council Members and other local
regulators;
o Volunteer appreciation night.
• Advocacy efforts which benefit the community, e.g., advocating against the MCPS 400+ bus
depot which was proposed for Avery Rd., for improvements in traffic light timing, speed control,
stop-sign stop lines, road signs and other traffic safety issues, highway and environmental
noise conditions, etc.;
• Signage for meetings, social events, neighborhood yard sale, etc.
• Bulk item pick-up costs;
• More.
