Hi. I was just informed by a neighbor that our neighborhood is being cased for break ins. A white male in his early 20's about 5'8" dressed in a suite, was posing as a Horizon Services salesman. The goal here is to see who is home and when and who is not. Horizon does not do door to door sales calls. They only come by appointment only. If you have a person at your door ask for ID and proof of who they work for. I am sure they will change this up and try to pose as other companies. Don't hesitate to call 911. Please tell all your neighbors and keep a look out.

I do know that Verizon does go door to door.

On Thursday, March 21 around noon I noticed a "meat van" (didn't catch the name, but it looked like a Schwan's type service) across the street from me.  I heard him calling out to me, but I walked back inside and shut the door.  Lo and behold, a minute later he was knocking on my door; when I answered the door he told me he had an order he couldn't deliver and wanted to know if I wanted it (I saw it coming and told him we're vegetarians--I'm still waiting for the lightning to strike me)

I figure it was either:

a.) a scam

b.) the guy was casing the neighborhood

c.) both! 

The guy definitely seemed shady, and I did notice them stopping at a few different houses and sort of "looking inside"

Given that long story... :)  I do know that Horizon will put ads on people's doors if they have a service call at a nearby house.  Either way...thanks for the head's up!
