 Looks like the MFMC leadership dropped the ball on this one. It cost all of us money.Waste Industries apparently took that opportunity to raise the rates. What I don"t understand is why  we are all paying a little different amount. 2 weeks ago I spoke to them they did not offer any reduction. Something is wrong here.

Yes, as noted by another respondent that information is from 2011. We have been residents since August, 2013 and our rate is currently $66/quarter. They have provided excellent service along with willingness to pick up many boxes for recycling. They never leave cans tipped over or trash in the street as I've seen with other companies. Also they get the job done in a timely manner.. If we were to approach them regarding providing service for the entire community there would be the ability to negotiate a discount for all. It would also mean less wear and tear on our roads and increased safety in not having trash/recycling trucks coming through 3 days a week, some of them (Waste Management) on weekends due to a holiday. Howeveer, it is nearly impossible to get the 2/3 response from 413 total homes required for the Board to initiate the process.

How did the MFMC leadership drop the ball on this one?  I've read and re-read my governing documents and I can't find anywhere that it say the MFMC leadership is responsible for negotiation trash pick up rates for the community.  Someone, and I'm not even sure it was a board member, years ago was able to get a negotiated rate that benefitted those of us who chose to use it.  But it is in no way the boards responsibility to negotiate your trash pick up rates!!!

e by a previous board to help residents and eliminate the trucks coming in everyday. It was for the good of the community. It does not require any vote because it does not change any by lays. It was all done by a phone call or two. It was just a nice gesture by that board. This board apparently is not interested. End of story.
