Establishment of Maplewood Glen

In November 2000 Wendy Bluhm started meeting with the City of Renton to find out what it took to include our neighborhood in the grant program.

In January 2001 we had our first meeting and started working on becoming a neighborhood association. We then decided to make a new known name for our neighborhood, before it was named Maplewood Glen the people considered our community Maplewood. It wasn't until March 2001 when there was a vote for our community when it became Maplewood Glen.

We then started working on putting a proposal together to establish a signage for our neighborhood. It was a lot of work with only a handful of volunteers. But the proposal got done on the due date and to add it was one of the most impressive proposals the city had every seen. It made it to the Mayors office quit often.
