For exotic materials containing trace metals and polycarbonate plastics, such as your used CDs, you'll need to enlist the help of your local UPS driver. One of the biggest sites that accepts CDs for recycling is NE-SAR Systems. You can send as much as 50 pounds of old CDs per box to NE-SAR Systems, 420 Ashwood Road, Darlington, PA 16115; (724.827.8172). The company also recyles the jewel boxes, but only if you remove the liner notes and other paper debris.
