Hi, my name is Aaron Schepler and I live on Emerson St. The police are going to show up at my office on August 15 and haul me away to jail!

Why, you ask? I have been asked to participate in an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association called the ''MDA Lockup.'' Participants are ''arrested'' in their offices, hauled away to ''jail'' (this year, it's Jackson's on Third), and are ''sentenced'' to spend the afternoon there. During their stay, jailbirds are treated to ''bread and water,'' which will probably be beer and wings, since it's at Jackson's.

The judge has set my ''bail'' at $2,500. In order to make bail, I need your donations! Please consider contributing to this very worthy cause. Even donations small as $1 are helpful and will be appreciated. I will promptly issue you a receipt for your tax records.

Aaron, This sounds like FUN actually. You can put Jim and myself down for $10. We will drop it off at your home probably today sometime. This is such a worthy cause and I love your story!

There is also another volunteer you probably have read about by now in the newsletter -- a teenager, Lindsay EmBree -- who is striving to earn $1,850 by walking 50 miles for Multiple Sclerosis. That walk takes place in California.

These both are such dreaded diseases and have touched countless lives -- I wish you well in your endeavor to give those waiting for a cure a ray of hope.
