What's happening here?
I understand that this note is a little late, but I wasn?’t online until recently. First off, at what point did 1019 W Posada volunteer to buy an ad for the neighborhood? Was this posted somewhere that I didn?’t read? Was there a discussion I never heard? As I understand it, and I?’m sure you?’ll correct me if I?’m wrong, they spent THEIR money to place an ad for THEIR sale. Sure there was a neighborhood sale that day, but was it their responsibility to do an ad for all of us? In addition, didn?’t the traffic coming to their house have to go through a large area of the neighborhood to get there? How many other sales did they pass? Do you think the shoppers drove by every other sale just because they weren?’t listed in the paper? I think not. It would make sense that everyone having a sale benefited from the traffic generated by their ad, even though the community sale was not noted.
I should add that this note was not just sparked by you, nor is it intended to be a personal attack. I?’m sure whoever you are you?’re a great neighbor and an asset to our community. Lately, though, I?’ve been disgusted with the attitudes of several neighbors. We?’re all good people trying to do the right thing. I don?’t think anyone wakes up in the morning and thinks, ?“How can I irk my neighbor today??” We are a tight neighborhood and a great one. I am happy to be here. However, I have heard so many people talk about their neighbors in a demeaning way lately and I?’m sick of it. We are a community and communities should communicate with each other to resolve differences. If you have an issue with your neighbor, talk to them before taking another action. They?’ll probably be receptive and more willing to resolve the situation civilly. For instance, if your neighbor?’s dog barks while they?’re away, why not ask if they?’re aware of it? If you?’re unhappy with an unfinished exterior home improvement project, why not ask them what?’s wrong and if you can help? Do you really think they want an ugly yard? Most people here bend over backwards to maintain the neighborhood?’s appearance and would not leave a project unfinished unless there was a serious problem. Did you ever stop and think that your neighbor would happily move their car if you just asked politely and informed them that its position was a possible safety issue? And calling the police immediately for loud music?… The list goes on and on. Like I said, I think this is a wonderful neighborhood with lots of great, caring people. I also think that we?’re all trying to do the best we can in a fast paced society, but sometimes we all need a little help or a GENTLE reminder. Isn?’t that what neighbors are supposed to do after all?
