Marlborough Residents,

The following incident happened while Jim and I were on vacation in October, but I felt it worthy of printing here 1) to see if it happened to anyone else and 2) to be on the lookout as the holidays are approaching.

from Hank and Terri:

At about 6:35 pm tonight, (10/17/02) a young couple came to our door (W. Posada) asking for a donation for a 6 week class in England for an ASU communication class. He said his father lived on Spruce down the street and said we were a ''friendly neigborhood'' and would probably help him out. When asked the address he said 1717 Spruce. He said his father was Mr. Williams. I am not aware of any Mr. Williams on Spruce. He was asking for our phone number so his father could call back to say thank you for the donation. We did not give this information out. When further questions were asked of him, such as what level of communication class, how long had he lived in the neighborhood, etc., he couldn't answer. Please let us know if he went to anyone else's house and if he does live in the neighborhood, please let us know as well.

We weren't unlucky enough for this to happen to us. But, thanks for the heads-up. We will definately be on the look-out for this type of thing. I did run into someone walking down the street stating he was from ASU and was selling magazines to earn money for a trip. That was approx. 2 to 3 weeks ago. Thank you.
