There was a car that was burglarized last night. On my way to work this morning I saw a purse on the side of the road (on Pantera next to the nursery just west of Arizona Ave). I found some documents with an address and phone number so I was able to get it back to the owner, however there was no wallet, money, etc. The car was on the corner of Spruce and Portabello (1047 Portobello). When I returned the purse this afternoon I was told that a CD player and some CD's were also taken.

Tips to not be a Victim

Most of the time, car burglaries can be prevented or at least reduced.
Some of the things that YOU have to do to prevent becoming a victim of a burlgary are pretty simple.
First of all, lock your car :) I know that sounds silly, but it does happen quite frequently.
Secondly, remove ALL of the items of value from out in the open, and remove the face plates of your car radio if applicable EVERYTIME. By doing this, you are removing the 'eye candy' from would be burglers standpoint.
Park in well lit areas, and if you don't have a well lit area, make one. Motion lights are cheap and easy to install.
There are a wide variety of other things to help prevent yourself from being the victim of a crime, but these are some things that will get you started. Remember, prevention starts with you.
