I posted these tips under 'car theft' and then thought that some people may not read that topic....sooooo I thought I would start my own.
First of all a good percentage of crime can be prevented if you just take the time to 'tighten up' your security. Regarding vehicle burglaries; make sure you keep all of your toys i.e. cell phones, cd's purses etc out of plain view from your car window. Second, lock your car(it sounds stupid but...)park in well lit areas. Don't give these morons any bait. Most of the car crimes I go to could have been prevented if the victims would just take a few seconds to 'secure' your car. Also, here is another good tip to prevent becoming a victim...close your garage door at night. I drove in tonight after shift at about 0230 am. and I figured I would check the neighborhood. Well, I found 4 open garage doors, and I mean wide open with the lights on.(2 on Portobello and 2 on Plata. Come on people your making it to easy for these criminals. Ok I'll get off my dog house for now. :o)
