YOU are invited to Neighborhood Day at the State Legislature on Wednesday, January 31, 2001.
We meet at the Mesa Community and Conference Center at 9 am and ride the bus over from there. The bus will
return around 3 pm.
During our stay, there will be a brief program, lunch and tour of the House and Senate.
You will hear about this year's
neighborhood legislative agenda, which tentatively includes:
a. Creating a State fund for neighborhood infrastructure grants;
b. Requiring problem bars to take more responsibility for what
happens in their parking lots;
c. Increasing public involvement in and input on the State licensure
of group homes in Arizona; and
d. Preserving state-shared revenues so city services can be
maintained.
A tour of the House and Senate is also inlcuded if you choose to go -- there will be time allotted for this.
If you would like to attend, please email me soon, as the busses fill quickly. This is very short notice and I do apologize for that.
