Lost Dog
If you don't find the owners, I have some suggestions for you. There is a place just down the street called ''A Place for Serenity'' that is a pet adoption service. You give them a photo of the dog and keep it at your own home until they can find a place for it. Or, if the dog can be trusted around cats, if you cant find the owners and it gets to the point where you need to get rid of it, I'll take it for a while and try to find a a home for it. Please let me know before you take the dog to the pound. Some vets and the pound have scanners and can check to see if the dog has a computer chip (a possibility since it has tags) you may be able to find the owner that way. I'm sure you can probably find a place that won't charge you just to scan the dog -- try calling around and asking. I can do it if you don't have time -- just send me an e-mail. You mentioned the dog has Texas tags, but didn't say where in Texas or how much information was on the tags. I have relatives in the Houston area -- If you have a phone number or address I can send them over to contact neighbors, etc. if it is near Houston. Or if you just have a name, phone number, let me know I might be able to still get them to help track down the owners that way. Good luck. Jessica Schepler |

Dog and Owner Reunion
I am happy to report that Amethyst (the dog) was reunited with her owners about one hour after this post was made. Thank you for everyone's support and good wishes - as this loving family pet is back home. |
