Forwarded from CitizenCorps mailing list:
The ''20th Annual National Night Out'' (NNO), a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, 2003.
National Night Out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to:
(1) heighten crime prevention awareness;
(2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
(3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
(4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
---Given the ''sour tone'' of some of the recent postings on this site, perhaps this would be a good idea to get to know one-another on a nice & sociable level again, as well as let the criminals (mail thieves, etc) that we won't tolerate them around here. As such, I have registered MM on the National Night Out Website for 2003. Any thoughts?
