IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
Right now, the Clean Sweep Program is in jeopardy! As of April 30, 2003 it will be stopped to insure they do not go over budget. It may continue and some dates will open up in May or June ?– but that is ?“iffy?”. This program is being offered as a budget cut for 2003 - 2005. The program may go away entirely beginning July 1, 2003.
TOGETHER ?– we at least have a VOICE that ALL members of council, mayor and vice-mayor NEED to hear. If you have lived in Marlborough Mesa for a few years, you KNOW the value of this program. Our Clean-Sweep Coordinator, Kristine Malcolm, signs us up to receive these dumpsters/containers every April and October and they are on every street. So, PLEASE, PLEASE let the council men and women hear from you individually as a homeowner.
You can use (just cut and paste or write whatever you would like) the following message to EACH of them at their City of Mesa emails: SEND it in ANY form ?– you won?’t regret the few minutes it takes. REMEMBER: If we are SILENT ?– the Clean Sweep Program WILL go away.

Mesa City Council, Vice-Mayor and Mayor,
In the past few months, we have been hearing possibilities of discontinuing the Clean Sweep Program. We do hope that the City of Mesa will leave this in place. It has been this program that has made such an impact on the appearance of older neighborhoods.
In Marlborough Mesa, BEFORE we began signing up for Clean Sweep on a regular basis, you could see ?… trash, tree limps, junk, appliances, mattresses, building materials, etc., etc., etc. piled on sides of homes. Large items did not fit into any of the green or black barrels.
Now that we have utilized the Clean Sweep Containers on a twice-a-year basis for several years, we realize just how valuable they are to our community and how much cleaner the overall appearance of our neighborhood is. Clean Sweep along with Code Compliance are vital programs to developments such as ours ?– without HOA?’s.
Thank you for considering keeping the program alive,
