Hi neighbors,
Within the last couple of weeks, someone has stolen a small lawn ornament from our front yard. It is a small plastic hippo, approximately 1 and 1/2 feet long, that is laying down. It is grayish green in color with golden feet.
The value of this little lawn ornament is not much dollar wise, but it holds so much sentimental value. You see, our 14 year old daughter died May of 2003. Her favorite animal was a hippo. We have planted a tree in our front yard for her. When I found this little hippo lawn ornament, it seemed perfect to have it sit facing her tree and next to her memorial stepping stone. As you can imagine, it is extremely rare to find a hippo lawn ornament. We felt blessed to have found it last year, and feel sad that it is now missing.
I am hoping that someone might read this, and know where our missing hippo has gone. We don't want to get anyone into trouble or cause difficulties, but if you have seen the hippo, or know who took it, please let them know how very much this means to our family. Please return it to our house anytime, day or night - no questions asked. It can even be returned in the middle of the night - we just would like to have it back home.
Thank you
