This coming Friday, November 12th is the day that political campaign signs in public spaces like street corners need to be removed throughout Phoenix and the East Valley. My understanding is most Valley cites require they be gone 10 days after the election date or if the city chooses, it can level a fine to that candidate for the removal.
Having stated the above, I'm not sure how the City of Mesa handled this type of situation relative to Neighborhood Signs. More importantly, Marlborough Mesa, e.g., Garage Sales, Missing Pets, etc. Does the city's Neighborhood Services Department have inspectors who go around and take pictures of these signs handling on street poles and stop signs so the addressee cited can be fined for leaving them up. I have signs on a street pole near my house that has been there going on three weeks. I have had some of my neighbors confront me about taking their signs down from the ''stop sign'' in my front yard. After consulting with Mesa Police, I was told, as a Property Owner, I can remove these signs anytime they are put up and I DO JUST THAT. I do not want any signs displayed on my property. All I asked is that my Neighbors respect my wishes.
