Do you have an opinion or an idea on this subject?

This is a place to express those views
and get them in our Commissioner's hands. The San Tan Power Plant CAN and WILL affect us all! Complacency is what got California in the situation they are in now, and is not where we, as residents of Arizona, want to be in another 5 years or LESS.

I had a lengthy discussion with the head of Public Relations of the Corporation Commission this morning, and she assured me that our voices count!

I will be attaching your comments from the website in a letter to our Commissioners. This letter will be sent out or hand delivered Monday, April 23rd , as the Corporation Commission's Meeting is on Wednesday, April 25th.

Whether you are FOR or AGAINST this project, be assured that your messages or comments will be attached to the letter. Please be informed and involved, because whatever comes out of this upcoming meeting at the Corporation Commission will surely affect the future of the entire East Valley.

Commissioner Spitzer made a comment that I don't recall exactly but it was something along the lines of ... ''The public won't remember the individual arguments and the group meetings but it WILL remember how the Commission voted if the LIGHTS GO OUT!'' Help our commissioners to make the RIGHT choice.

The phone number of the Corporation Commission is: 602-542-3076

Chairman Commissoner Mondell's email is: wmondell@cc.state.az.us

Commissioner Spitzer's email is: mspitzer@cc.state.az.us

Commissioner Irvin's email is: jirvin@cc.state.az.us

San Tan Power Plant

This power plant, which I believe will be in the City of Gilbert (Val Vista and Warner - or close to that area) has been in the planning stages for a long time. I believe the land has been owned by SRP for many years, and thier plan for that land has always been for a power plant to be built there.

I do understand the residents of that area being ''concerned'' as to their property values, however, I also believe it is in the homeowners due diligence to be aware of pending plans for the surrounding areas where thier homes are built.

We certainly do NOT want to get into the same situtaion California is facing at this point in time. Thier rising electricity costs show no let up, and they are forced to have to do something about it. Of course, as slow as government is, it will take them years to play catch up to where they should be today. That is not a future I wish to see for Arizona.

As the land developers continue to widen this valley in almost all directions, ad as we continue to get an influx of new residents, ''we'' need to be prepared for this impending growth, physically and by population.

So far, the Phoenix area, and especially Mesa, have shown considerable abilities in their planning of the community, and we, as residents, need to show the same responsible abilities, and keep ahead of any energy crisis that will fall upon us in future years.

I say, build the plant, and any more that are needed.

Respectfully Submitted

San Tan Power Plant

Prevention is the Key here!!! Build it!!! We have the Opportunity to Prevent a Future Crisis!!!! Principly Speaking ''How it Affect's Someone's Neighborhood'' is a Consistent Problem, and the Magnitude of that Problem in Someone's Neighborhood. Marlborough Mesa had the Same Concerns when SRP built it's Power lines in our Neighborhood!!!! Thanks for Allowing Me to Share My Opinion and Vote!!!

San Tan Power Plant - Start Now!

As long as it takes to decide or organize, they need to take action NOW before the crisis comes.

I agree with some of the neighbors that have already responded ''Prevention is the Key here!!! We have the Opportunity to Prevent a Future Crisis!!!''

1. SRP needs to go door to door if necessary and pass out flyers with the information they have and let their communities know and give the options to choose from.
2. Then have a plan in place for each option before they pass the flyers out.
3. Have a team ready to follow through with that plan.
4. Let the neighbors know what the plan is so they can do anything to assist SRP.
5. And then last but not least implement.

These look like they are 5 easy steps but we all know how much T I M E each one takes. Time is of the essence! Let's work together NOW while we have the TIME.

A voice from your community!
