I wanted to let you all know that I have been asked to become a member of the PRIDE Grand selection committee for the City Of Mesa's Neighboorhood Office.

I considered this a great honor, and have accepted this position with anticipation of ''making a difference''.

As you know, Alma Jones did als the paperwoork required for the application for our last PRIDE Grant, and ''we'' won that grant. (Thank you Alma, for ALL you do! )

Although, as a Selection Committee Member, I am not able to prepare a grant application, nor will I be able to vote on one for Marlborough Mesa. However; it would be wonderful if one of you would be willing to submit the paperwork for another Grant for this year.

There are several of you that still want one more sign for the north side wall at the Pecos/Alma School entrance.

Please contact me if you are willing to take on this task. It only takes a few hours to fill out the paperwork. The money is there 'for the asking'.

If you are interested, let me know, and I will get the application paperwork for you, and help you to fill it in. Also, Alma has the origial one she entered (and won) for our first sign effort.

Think about it... and if you have any ideas of other ways to spend the money, other than the last sign, then please step forward and take on the task.

Thank you - and I wish for all of you, a aafe, fun, and Happy New year !!

Money Available

I attented the first PRIDE GRANT meeting this week, and found out there is a LOT of money out there for the ''asking''. Mesa United Way gets the funding for this, and currently has over 20 THOUSAND dollars to disburse before July of this year. WE CAN GET another $2500.00 of this money if anyone wants to write a grant. It is relatively EASY to do this, so if you want the last sign for the PECOS/ALMA SCHOOL entrance, OR for something else, just ask. Help IS available to you on writing up a grant application.
