On Friday evening (2/21/03) at approximately 8:45 p.m., I had a man such as the one described in the original warning about this approach my house. I didn't answer the door, either as I was here with my 3 year old and the dogs only.

When I asked through the door who it was, he responded by saying ''I don't know who to say I am or who I'm with''. He went on to explain about the security system and I explained we already had one. That's when he left
and started east on Peralta.

Interesting ....sounds like the same kid who came to my door about 3-4 weeks ago saying the same stuff. I listened for a minute, than said I was not interested and closed the door in his face. I probably should have called the police, but didn't. He acted very familiar and overly-friendly, and rather pushy, which turned me off right away! Way too suspicious, and unprofessional sounding. Also, it was late in the evening that he came by too...another tipoff.

We had the same person come to our door except he a women with him also. When my husband opened the door they said Good Evening Mr. So and So (they knew our name also) and started making small talk about our dog my husband was holding. Right away my husband said we were not interested in anything they were selling but looking back we wondered how they knew our name. It seemed a little suspicious also.

We had a visit from this guy too, although it was earlier in the week. It did seem strange although I didn't think that it might be a scam. Thanks for the warning.
