Residential Burglaries on Rise

Posted in: Marlborough Mesa
In the last month, the area bordered by Guadalupe Road to the SRP canal and Alma School Road to Country Club Drive has experienced a number of residential burglaries. The M/O has been varied: entry has been made by cutting a window screen; smashing, breaking or opening kitchen windows or a bedroom window; entering through an unlocked front door or garage door; or prying open a rear door. The items taken have included cameras, computer printer, cash, jewelry, silverware, tools, guitar, rifle, bow and arrow.

We are looking for residents who may have seen suspicious vehicles, persons or activities that could have been connected with these burglaries, or who may have any additional information that might help us solve these crimes.

Please contact Detective Nancy Spina at 480-644-4355 if you have any information.

Should you wish to be added to our email list so that you may receive emails of this nature, please send an email to Karen.Hubbard@cityofmesa.org asking to be placed on the Neighborhood Watch email list, or call our office at (480) 644-2300, option 5.

Close Garage Doors

THIS IS A REMINDER TO CLOSE AND LOCK YOUR GARAGE DOOR AT ALL TIMES.

Crime trends have shown that we are experiencing thefts from open garages throughout Mesa. With the cooler weather, garage doors tend to be left open while we are working in the yard, working on vehicles, or while we make a quick trip to the store. The open garage gives the opportunity for a thief to enter while we are busy elsewhere.

If you have any questions or if you would like to start a Neighborhood Watch in your area, please contact the Mesa Police Department Crime Prevention Unit at 480-644-2300, option 5.
