You may want to check your back/front yards ?… bushes, trees, etc. very carefully. The Africanized bees are definitely IN OUR AREA! A hive was being killed from a yard on MOLLERA and PAMPA just this afternoon.
I talked with the person removing those bees and he told me that this hive was as large as the recent one on the news and in the newspaper just last week ?– 50 to 75,000 bees.
The killer bees that survived the drought of 2 winters ago are very strong and aggressive. Due to this last winter?’s rains they were provided with prime bee-breeding conditions. We are now at greater risk of being swarmed by these bees than ever.
He said to even watch for them in any thick vegetation areas. Cox Communication workers were the people who actually found the hive while digging ?– not the owners.
