I have an idea to throw out there for you all...
We could make our own website. What we have now is great, but if and when they go out of business, your site is gone. We could own our own site and name.... I looked and ''marlboroughmesa.org'' and ''marlboroughmesa.net'' are available. Since I sell webspace on the side and can build websites, the cost wouldnt be very much.

What it would also give you is an email address for the residents like ''alma@marlboroughmesa.net'' or whatever name was considered.

I think alma is doing a great job with the current site, that we should just grow on it.

I feel this is worth discussing. Let me know.

About how much would the website cost? I am sure others would like to know this also.

Would there be a monthly, yearly, etc. charge?

Could the site be more ''resident friendly?'' ... for example could we have a classified section whereby residents could search and buy and sell items?

I can't think of other questions at this very moment, but I am sure they are somewhere lurking in my head. This gives a start.

Since I deal in selling web space, I would/could sell it at my cost. I would say that would be less then 15/month for the space.... the name is around 20/year. All of this I would cover and the neighborhood could donte to the cause, any excess monies going into your fund.

As for neighbor friendly, it sure can be. A user area with password needed would limit sections to only those that live here. Ads are easy also. Personal pages may be the tricky part outside of me making them as needed.

I would suggest that any people interested in doing this would form up a small commitee of sorts... it could be much fun also.
