7 Confirmed ...
On Nov. 5 when I talked with the police, we have had 7 FLAG BURNINGS in Marlborough Mesa reported last weekend -- ALL Saturday night or in the wee hours of Sunday morning. As I am writing this, we now have ANOTHER flag STOLEN just last night, Nov. 6th or 7th! PLEASE report any future incidents to police so they can determine if there is a pattern and act accordingly. Police tell me that in our neighborhood we rarely SEE police cars BECAUSE we have such a low crime area! Well, these are crimes as far as I am concerned and they must be addressed. If you have more details, please share them with others here. We might consider taking our flags in for the night. I know it is time consuming, but flag etiquette already dictates that the American Flag should only be flown at night if it is lit up. We have the beginnings of a Safety Team who will be meeting with the City I believe sometime next week to see how we best can solve some of these problems. Anyone interested in being involved in any way, let me know. |
