Marlborough Mesa

We have $300 from the City of Mesa to spend. It is due to our winning in the Neighborhood Excellence Catagory of the first Spirit of Mesa Awards.

In this month's newsletter, I have ask for your suggestions as to HOW we shall spend this money.

Their criteria is that it be spent on the neighborhood who has worked so hard to earn the award in the first place. They have given us a camera to take pictures of the event.

I have had some suggestions. If you like any or want to add to the list, please do. If you were the one to suggest one of these above, this is the place to ''tell the story'' on how you want to achieve the end result.

If you suggest something, you must be willing to coordinate it or have a team to do so. They are:

1. Starting a tutoring program for the neighborhood.
2. Using it for next year?’s Easter Egg Hunt
3. This year?’s ''Santa at the Park'' festivities
4. ''Camp Marlborough''

Please expound upon these or add additional ones.

Award money=reward money?

Hows about putting the first $100 into a reward fund towards the flag burnings/theft? I will offer another $20 towards a reward fund for future use.

I would think that any reward offered may indeed get one kid to rat on another one. No honor among thieves....

What a way to spend those $300 given to us by the City of Mesa
A camp for our children in this neighborhood where we could have a ''Boredom Buster'' camp for all those kids out on summer vacation.

I think that a reward for the capture of the little stinks is a great idea. The Borg Family will also donate $20.00 toward the future of this fund!!!! Could be a great time to do it right before the holidays, so kids can buy gifts with their reward money!!!
