Our neighbors Nissan Maxima was broken into early this am (3/1/02) The thieves stole the speakers from his car along with all of his tools. They broke the passenger window and were able to access the trunk from their. All of the tools were in the trunk out of sight.

break-ins
Just an observation from someone new.... I notice that the break-ins and thefts are one at a time... as opposed to several hits at once. If I were a thief, or a group of thieves, I sure wouldnt take the chance of being caught on just one hit.
My gut tells me the thief is a local, probly a kid. Is there any patterns to the tool thefts in recent months? Same street? Same block?

Interesting Thought
Rick, I agree that it is weird only one car is broken into at a time. You are right about this being a local kid. Our neighbors tools were in his trunk, out of sight. Someone must have been interested in the speakers in his car and hit the jack pot when they saw the tools. Our Suburban was parked in the driveway that night right next to our neighbors car and it was not touched.

future problems?
My next question would be.... how will this kids parent(s) react to his or her kid getting his/her ass kicked, or worse? My guess would be the ''not my kid, he is a good boy/girl'' reaction.
Is there a pattern... same block or street? Any kids locally on probation? What about that gang connection I heard about in the neighborhood?
