Marlborough Mesa

About 6 pm today a helicopter was overhead. There had been a theft at Safeway.

A neighbor called me and told me that Safeway had been having several thefts so they decided to hire an undercover agent. That agent caught 3 teenagers (or young people) and chased them into our neighborhood. He called police as he apprehended 2 of them but the 3rd got away into our neighborhood. That is why the helicopter was overhead for so long.

The one that got away was described as a black male wearing bluejeans and a red bandana.

Sighting

I saw that boy coming down my street today. I live on Obispo Avenue. He was walking towards Extension going east. He had on the clothing you described. I was taking trash out to the barrel and I could hear the helicopter when he was walked in front of my home.

At least one (probably two) of the Safeway suspects came through my side yard by jumping over my front wall, then ran through my backyard and jumped my back wall into the alleyway between the houses on Emerson and the storage facility. I had four police officers here, one of which later came back and told me two of the suspects were in custody. He told me they were caught in the alley, heading north toward Guadalupe. He told me another one was still at large, but was known to be heading east toward Country Club. This was all between 6 and 7 PM.
